When Swappie asked me to talk about my most recent iPhone purchase – I told them it wasn’t actually for me, it was for my daughter Maria.

When you’re gifting something high-tech like an iPhone to a growing teenager, it’s hard not to imagine the worst case scenario! I want to stay in touch with Maria, but I’m always concerned she’ll drop the device and before I know it I’ll be buying another one. We love to share pictures and FaceTime when we’re apart so a relatively good camera is great to have, but I know she doesn’t need the latest model. This means I can save cash on an older device, which also means it matters less if she breaks it!
